da blaze casino: Burnley play hosts to title-chasing Manchester City in the Premier League at Turf Moor on Saturday.
da jogodeouro: The Clarets have generally enjoyed a positive return to the top flight this season, although they were poor in the 4-0 defeat away at West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Monday night.
Sean Dyche’s side have been especially impressive at their Lancashire home however, where they have beaten Liverpool, Everton, Watford and Crystal Palace and drawn with fellow promoted side Hull City.
They welcome a City side that began the campaign in fantastic form – winning their opening six league fixtures – but have taken just nine points from a possible 18 since then as the Premier League title race has been blown wide open.
Despite the two clubs having a huge gap between their respective budgets, here are three stats that prove Burnley will cause an upset vs Man City at Turf Moor…
Home form
Burnley have picked up 13 of their 14 Premier League points this term on their own patch and as well as inflicting Liverpool’s only defeat of the season on them so far this season, they were also unfortunate to concede a last-gasp winner against Arsenal.
The Clarets are certainly in confident mood at Turf Moor and that will have to continue if they are to avoid relegation straight back to the Championship, as their away matches have yielded just the solitary point thus far.
Sean Dyche’s side have also scored 10 of their 11 league goals at their home in Lancashire.
City’s defence
Pep Guardiola’s men are only one point behind the leaders Chelsea in the Premier League table, but they have looked anything but solid at the back in recent weeks.
City have only kept one clean sheet in their last 13 matches in all competitions, and with Burnley’s fine home record, the Clarets will be confident of scoring at least one goal past Claudio Bravo to give themselves a real opportunity of causing an upset.
City after European trips
This week, City travelled to Germany where they drew 1-1 with Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League group stages, and their form after away trips in Europe will give Burnley hope of picking up a positive result against Guardiola’s side.
After their previous games on the road against Celtic and Barcelona earlier this season, City were beaten by Tottenham and drew with Southampton respectively, and the Clarets will be hoping that win-less sequence continues.
