da pinnacle: Alexis Sanchez doesn’t know whether his future will see him remain at Arsenal and has received offer from China, Gunners legend Robert Pires has revealed.
What’s the word?
da blaze casino: Arsenal fans will be desperate to hear some positive news concerning the future of Alexis Sanchez but there is still no breakthrough in negotiations regarding a new deal, with the Chilean entering the final 18 months of his current contract.
Alexis has excelled in the Premier League this season, directly contributing to more goals (22) than any other player in Europe’s top-five leagues and shining in a central-role for the Gunners, whilst still performing out wide when called upon.
Arsenal are determined to pen Alexis to a long-term deal but are struggling to reach a conclusion. In an interview with Chilean outlet La Tercera, Arsenal legend Robert Pires lifted the lid on the contract situation and it didn’t make for good reading for Gooners- as he also confirmed China’s attempts to land the signature of the two-time Copa America winner.
What was said?
“I spoke to Alexis last week and asked about the renewal. He told me he didn’t know, that he only cared to play. The renewal is not a subject for Alexis. He doesn’t know what is going to happen, he just wants to play and enjoy.”
“Yes (there have been offers from China), that’s what we all know. All we want is for Alexis to remain at Arsenal. I hope he renews his contract because he is a wonderful player. Alexis is the engine of the car. I hope he stays forever.”
Will he stay?
Alexis determination and focus is what makes him one of the best players in the Premier League but it’s also what has led Arsenal down a tricky road, as the Chilean intends to put full attention on his football and won’t get dragged into contract negotiations.
On the bright side, it shows that football is the most important aspect to him and that wages aren’t the ultimate goal but Arsenal need to know what the player wants to do, so that they can prepare for a possible departure in the summer.
The more this saga progresses, the more concerning a situation it will be for Arsenal and the Gunners may have to prove themselves as contenders for titles this season if they’re to keep their key man.
