Remember Jaroslaw Jach, anybody?
Crystal Palace signed the 2-cap Poland international on a three-and-a-half year contract back in January 2018, although amazingly, he is yet to make an appearance for the first-team over two years on.
Jach has been sent out on three separate loan deals since becoming an Eagle, spending time with Çaykur Rizespor, Sheriff Tiraspol and Raków Częstochowa – the latter club is where he is currently at, and is not having the best of times.
The 25-year-old has made 13 appearances for Raków in Poland’s top-flight, also known as the Ekstraklasa.
Across those outings, he has been part of the backline when conceding 19 goals after this weekend’s 2-2 against top-of-the-table Legia Warszawa, although his team as a whole have been far more leaky.
Raków have conceded 34 goals in 22 league games, which makes them the third-worst side from a defensive aspect in Poland’s top-flight – two other clubs have conceded 35 goals, while LKS Lodz have shipped a league-high 40 goals.
In fairness to Jach, he has netted one goal and also hasn’t been present for 15 of his side’s league concessions, although having made 13 appearances out of a possible 22, he has still featured enough to be considered a valued first-team member.
The centre-back’s loan club are also still in danger of being relegated, as they sit six points above the drop zone with eight games of the campaign remaining.
While it is not out of the question that Jach potentially returns to Selhurst Park and becomes a first-team member, it is especially strange as to why he literally hasn’t played a single minute of football for the south Londoners since signing for the club over two years ago – there is also next to no talk about him in the media from Roy Hodgson, or anyone linked to the Eagles, in truth.
Calling Premier League experts ONLY: Which year were these top flight clubs formed?
It very much feels like he has been forgotten, and he must – at the very least – work on tightening up his side’s backline if he wants to become noticed in SE25 ever again.
