Journalist Sam Inkersole has claimed that Xande Silva “sent a timely reminder to David Moyes” by scoring for West Ham United’s Under-23 side last weekend.The 22-year-old was forced to undergo emergency bowel surgery over the summer and has therefore not been available for selection this term.Silva scored seven goals in his first six appearances for West Ham’s Under-23 side before making his first-team debut for the Hammers in December 2018.
He then made his first start against Birmingham City in the FA Cup but has not featured since due to a hernia problem and then bowel issue over the summer.
Silva actually scored and then provided an assist after coming off the bench against Sunderland’s Under-23 side on Sunday.
