Fabrizio Romano has addressed recent transfer rumours linking Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane with a move to Bayern Munich.
The Lowdown: Kane linked with Bayern
Last month, it was claimed by journalist Florian Plettenberg that the Bundesliga champions are working on a deal to sign the England captain, who Pep Guardiola called an “extraordinary” player.
Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn recently said that Kane is a “very good player” but played down the recent rumours linking the club with a move for the Spurs star.
Following these comments and speculation of late, Romano has now shared his insight on the matter.
The Latest: Romano on Kane rumours
In his recent column for Caught Offside, Romano addressed rumours linking Kane with Bayern.
He said: “I’ve seen stories about Harry Kane again, but there no changes at all as of now.
“Tottenham want to keep Kane and there are no negotiations ongoing, but also nothing would happen during the World Cup of course… so it’s completely quiet as of now.
“Bayern like Kane as Oliver Kahn stated, nothing else.”

The Verdict: Hands off
Bearing in mind how Manchester City failed in their attempts to get Daniel Levy to budge from the £150m price tag he slapped on Kane in 2021, there’s no reason why the Spurs chairman should have a different stance this time around.
This season has seen the Englishman score 12 goals in 15 Premier League appearances for Antonio Conte’s side, which shows just how important he is for the club and why they surely wouldn’t want to see him leave N17.
Now that Romano has addressed the Bayern rumours and poured cold water on any sort of link between the two parties, this should reassure Spurs supporters.
Moving forward, the north London club should have no intention of letting Kane leave any time soon and must also try to persuade him to sign a new contract before his current deal expires in 2024.
