Amorim took charge of his first match as Manchester United boss after less than a week of training with his full squad due to the international break, and the lack of preparation showed at Portman Road as the Red Devils could only draw 1-1 despite scoring within the opening two minutes via Marcus Rashford. United currently sit in 12th place in the Premier League, just seven points clear of Ipswich, who occupy the final relegation spot in 18th. United club legend Keane blasted Amorim's squad after the match, labelling them an "average Premier League team".

Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane said: "Man United, at this moment in time whatever the problems are, are an average Premier League team. So many teams are way ahead of them. There's a long way to go for this United team.
"Huge job for the manager, huge job. And, again, we keep saying it but listen, hopefully they get it sorted."

Keane went on to claim that Manchester United lack the quality to achieve a top four finish this season and argued that Amorim's appointment would not be enough for the Red Devils to fix their biggest issues.
He continued: "You still have the same players out there. The same problems. We talk about leopards and spots, the issue with United over the last couple of years. Lack of goals, lack of quality. We’re looking at Ipswich who haven’t won all season at home and they look the better team. If any team was gonna win you felt Ipswich were.
"Do I believe this group of players have the quality to get United back to top four or five? Absolutely not. The evidence just isn’t there. Once the game starts it's the same old stuff."
WHAT NEXT FOR MAN UTD?
United will next be in action when they take on Bodo Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday evening. The game will be Amorim's first in charge at Old Trafford as they look to get their European campaign back on track following just one win and three draws in their opening four games.
